Job Assistance Service

The AARP Information Center has a large base of senior candidates of all professions looking for work, some for economic reasons and others just to keep busy. Many employers and employment agencies supply us with openings, which we match with our job seekers. We help applicants with résumés and can create one for those who need it. Instructions in basic computer skills are provided free of charge.

A few examples are: Driver Safety Program; Tax Aide; Grief and Loss, Identity Theft: Rx Discounts; Medicare Changes: Home Loan Guide; Insurance: etc.; etc.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you, or someone you know, would like to volunteer your experience, your skill, and your vision, as an investment in your local senior community, please get in touch with us. The center is manned by volunteers (usually in pairs) who like to keep busy. From September though June we work two shifts, which are three-and-a-half-hours each, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In the off-season (July and August) we work one shift from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is an easy flexible opportunity to meet friendly new enterprising seniors and to help them help other seniors. All the necessary information will be at your fingertips to answer the varied questions that we get.
